There should be a ground wire attached to the back of the cluster is it attached properly?

Are all the dash lights out, or, just the ammeter light ?

If you have a repro dash harness the bulb sockets are the devil to get seated properly....takes a good angle with your hand and a firm push until you feel it seat...

If it is all the panel lights make sure the ground wire at the top of the panel is on as mentioned above. First and easiest though, don't overlook the fact that in removing the panel your headlight switch may have been rotated to the position that dims or turns the lights right off. Make sure it is all the way counter clockwise to the position where it is just before it turns on the courtesy lights. Don't ask me how I know that one.

Also, do you have tail lights? They are on the same fuse as the panel lights.

Ron, The headlight switch is powering the fuse block light when pulled to park or headlight position. The gray wire at H/L switch should powered when headlight switch is pulled. I would unplug switch and make sure that you did not bend one of the blades on the switch which power up the dash lights.
