    Mike,
Welcome to NCRS and the discussion board. There are two vendors making knock offs, both are much closer to original than the old repros (but still not perfect). A big question is do you want true knock offs that you must "pound" to tighten on or do you want "direct bolt" knock offs? They bolt to the car like normal wheels but look like knock offs. I have a set on my '65 and highly recommend them, no worries about the wheel coming loose. Another consideration is if you plan to have the car judged.
    Good luck,
    Don H.

I'm much simpler than Don - what's your question?

Welcome to NCRS and learning the vernacular. Your subject is 1965 "hubcaps" but your question used "knockoffs". I think we have a confusing terminology conflict. In 1965 the standard wheel was steel rims with hubcaps; the optional (P48) wheel was a quick take-off aluminum rim, which are commonly called "knockoffs" in NCRS vernacular because they utilized a single massive spinner for attachment that requires a lead hammer for installation/removal. Both wheels (steel and aluminum) and hubcaps are available in reproduction. Reproduction anything is commonly called "repro", repop", etc but not "knockoffs". Others on here are more expert than me to answer original versus reproduction detectability regarding hubcaps and their spinner. The reproduction P48 aluminum wheel and respective spinner are easily detectable from original.
