This is from three I've restored.
HD 06 63B - Inside Stamp NOV2362NC400
HD 06 63B - Inside Stamp APR163NC309 (out of my April 20th car)
HD 06A 63B - Inside Stamp APR2963NC309 (this one had the new mechanism to open and close the flappers, same as 64 to 67)

Re: What does number HD 06 63B on 63 heater box stand for
My car was built Jan 28th, 1963. How could it have a Feb dated box. As far as I know there were only 2 design boxes. Mine is the first design with the old mechanism to open flappers. Did the guy stamping boxes make a mistake or does the 63B stand for something else. When I removed box I could tell it had never been removed so replacing box with a Feb box did not happen.- Top

As far as I know there were 3 or 4 different boxes. Most were minor changes, the big change was the flapper mechanism. I do not think they were dated on the outside, well, just the year, model and modification sequence. As far as I know both the engine side box and the interior box were ink stamp dated on the inside. You usually can't see the date on the interior box as it was stamped on the fiberglass prior to any venting or flappers being installed. My car was built Jan 28th, 1963. Harrison dated almost everything with pad-painted ink stamps, as shown in Harry's photo; the date you noted was stamped in the steel forward cover facing the interior firewall. Photo shows one from '64.
