The original AC 45 plugs had 4 THIN green rings. Later 45 plugs had the 3 thin rings + 1 thick ring as seen in the examples in your photos.

That's the primary feature that separates the Big $$$ NOS plugs from the more modest-priced NOS plugs. It's not a difference that means much to me, though.
Joe, I do remember the stripe arrangement differentiated the old vs newer NOS differences but couldn't recall exactly. Thanks for clarifying that.

Of course the plug wire boots cover up those stripes anyway once installed, so in reality 3 or 4 stripes is a moot point I guess, but the "AC" can still be seen. Personally, I do like the fact that there's a "AC" named plug in view in my own cars' engine for the sake of keeping it looking like it was originally.

I do recall where I got those now. I was at a race shop about 10 years ago after I bought a local guys' 1962 Corvette(running original engine project) and he told me he had it serviced at that shop near his home in the 70's(one head rebuilt). He bought the car in '72. The shop owner gave me a tour as we were looking for the cars' original transmission case. Walking around with him I saw the box of AC 45's on a shelf. I asked him if he wanted to sell them and IIRC I think he asked for ten bucks a set or something similar....... so of course I bought them.

p.s. Timothy, Please PM to me your shipping address because if you could use a set of these on that 300HP or anywhere, your name was found inside each little box for some reason. (remember all that time you spent to help me with those 3 pesky little Holley 2 barrel carburetors? It's time for you to receive a little extra thank you.)

I opened the other set and they're R45's not 45's so those will be saved for my '59 driver with AM/FM CD to help keep the engine static noise down.

Okay....... PM me your info and I'll send the set of'45's out next week.

ps ......whether the Holley's continue to run OK or not!

Can anyone shed light on the 3 GM Tune-up Kits I have marked KIT #1R. Two kits are sealed and the third is open showing 1154034 Condenser and 1154030 Point Pkg (in GM boxes) and a set of AC GM R44. The spark plugs have the 4 thin green rings.
          Thanks

Yes, these were tune-up kits once available through GM dealers. The point and condenser part numbers were never available separately but they were the same as those available under other Delco/GM part numbers. Your kit would be applicable to any 1969-74 Chevrolet application using AC R44 plugs. They would also work for most 1962-68 applications originally using AC 44 plugs.
