I have mine fully up, it keeps it stretched out and so no wrinkles to set in.

Francis, up is the way to go, top tend to wrinkle while down, and in the cold climate they may shrink , My two cents.

        Francis,

Please leave your top up for storage. If you leave it down you may never get the wrinkles out!
Another two cents! That's all I have!

Hi Francis, I leave my top in the closed position all winter. I put a towel where the vinyl window folds and I have never had a problem in the spring when I remove my hard top. I just like to see my roadster with both tops... My two cents worth but up to you

Why take a chance with the top shrinking? Store it with the top up.

This is a hard one! all summer the top never goes up on my 65 unless I get caught in rain and then Until the first snow I drive with the hard top on. A wrinkled top means the car is properly used. Just my 2 cents ( wheat pennies)

Definitely store it in the up position to keep its shape. I can always tell when a top has been kept down for long periods of time... they're a bit misshapen with creases everywhere including the plastic window. It's similar to what happens when the traveling salesman keeps his shirt and suit tightly folded in his suitcase too long- when he shows up to the meeting, it looks like he slept in his clothes.

A trick I learned long ago: when in the garage, keep it up but unlatched to remove tension on the fabric and seams. That helps prevent premature stretching, which ensures a nice taunt look when it is latched up.

And of course, only fold it down when it's clean and dry.

I can relate to your hard top theory, back in 1976 when we got our 60 corvette I eagerly look for and purchased a nice hard top (lots of $$$ 500.back then) Had the top on twice, and it has been taking up space in the basement...as for the soft top, thanks for all your thoughts.I will be storing it in the up position.we only use ours if we get caught in a storm.
