1962 Corvette - Color of Hinges and Lock Trunk / rear Deck

Just about done with my restoration. But need to know the correct color to paint the hinges and the lock in the Trunk Rear Deck. Thanks for the information in advance!

Trunk hinges were painted same as body and inside of trunk. Trunk lock is not painted. Trunk lid, deck lid, doors and hood were all painted after installed - all body color.

When I pulled mine apart that is the only place that I found original body color, springs, inside doors etc. when removing the trunk lid and deck found unpainted fiberglass under the mounts. Eric

I would then assume that the engine hood / deck hinges are likewise???

It's scary to think that you are "just about done" with the restoration and apparently do not have a Judging Guide/Manual.

Re: 1962 Corvette - Color of Hinges and Lock Trunk / rear Deck

It is being done for me by a custom shop. The builder ask the other day if I could research it. The car has been off the chassis and the chassis is done. They put the body back on the car with the motor and drive train installed. It is in the color sanding stage and hopefully by Tuesday, the chrome will all go back on, as it was all completely restored. The way the car was when I purchased it has the hinges painted silver. No I did not buy a restorers guide as if there is something I didn't know I researched it. I saw most pictures with them painted the body color...but some with them painted a different color. So, I thought I would join this NCRS and ask guys who know ALL about things like this. Sorry if my lack of knowledge about this bothers you...I was only trying to learn, as this is my first Corvette. And I'd like to be sure it is done correctly.

Welcome Kenneth, There is a lot of info on this site and the NCRS store has all kinds of manuals, ST-12, wonderbar radio, judging manual set, operation manual.
Check out the store, a link is at the top of the page.

Should only be another 2 -3 weeks till completion. It was stock and original to begin with other than the motor was replaced under warranty in 1964. I have the original manifold and carb. Currently has Edelbrock manifold and carb on it. All else is original to the car other than paint. Paint was completely stripped and the entire body redone. Not a show car but want it as correct as can be done.

Kenneth, here are pictures of hood, deck and trunk mounts. All on the body when painted and blackout.
