1957 FI Distributor

Hi all,

I have a 1957 FI distributor, but the tag is missing, so I'm trying to figure out if it's the 889, 905 or 908. I've seen 905's with casting numbers prominent, but mine has no hint of a casting number or any markings at all. In lieu of the tag, how can I tell which one I have?

PS: The port for the tach drive is plugged.

If it has a fitting for BOTH an FI drive and a tach drive, then it can only be a 908.

Bob, Since your '57 distributor lacks a casting number then we can rule out '889 and early '905.
If the distributor is like Tom Parsons said that it can only be a '908.
If it's not a combo FI drive and tach drive and it doesn't have a provision for a vacuum advance then it's a later '905.
