I am a short and have the seat all the way up and found the seat belt is not long enough to clasp. I worry that if I get pulled over that I could be ticketed for not wearing it. Any suggestions? I understand that the belts were a dealer installed item- is that correct?

Re: 63 seat belt
Christina, At Corvette Carlisle there's a vendor next to me on "L" row. Snappin Turtle from PA. 800-843-3696
They sale various colors of seat belts. 63's look a likes (no good for judging) but very presentable. The buckle is similiar as I have been staring at them for many years and thought that. I understand their belts are longer than 63 originals. But confirm that with them.
The belts are very inexpensive/affordable.
Plan B. Have Seat Belt City Charle make you up a minty set of belts that are longer that will pass judging. If the judge doesn't measure them.
Don't have his address but others here do. John D.- Top

Re: 63 seat belt
When I purchased my 65, the belts were missing. As a temporary measure I purchased a very inexpensive set ($18?) from retrobeltusa http://www.retrobeltusa.com/ They sell different lengths and colors. I selected a blue that looked decent in my bright blue interior. It looks like they also sell extenders. I'm not 63 expert, but I think the Chrome Aviation style that they sell would look appropriate in a 63 (but obviously not something that would pass judging). I have since found a set of originals that I had redone by Charlie at Seat Belt City.- Top

Re: 63 seat belt
This lady is trying to get past the police and protect herself from injury. She is not worrying about passing judging. She wants advise how to avoid getting a $250.00 ticket.
The seat belt extenders would be ideal thus saving her a court appearance and a ticket!

PS. Seems as if this lady drives her Corvette on the OUTSIDE of a trailer! Yeah!- Top

Ky law does not require seat belts in a car that old..Maybe your state is the same.- Top

Re: 63 seat belt
Once we are ready for top flight then I will worry about the judge. But for now that $250 could be used towards gas...cooler days are coming to Florida. I will try retro belt extender and seat belt city, hopefully they can help. This year is will be the first time to the Lakeland show, I am sure I will be over whelmed by vendors.- Top

Re: 63 seat belt
It only takes twenty minutes to install them if the old bolt comes out. I had an awful time removing one of the bolts in my 63 and ended up very carefully using a small torch. If the seat bolts are original and the car is 50+ years old the may not come out easily.- Top

Re: 63 seat belt
The repro/aftermarket set I use in mine had mounting plates that were barely rounded instead of triangular tapered and would not fit into the corner between the floor and rear vertical panel. I had to grind them into shape to fit. Some day I'll shell out the dough to have my originals re-webbed. My buckles and mounting plates are in good shape, but the webbing is frayed from my sandpaper pants, I guess.
