    54 Corvette powerglide repair question

I need the name of the greatest 1954 Corvette power glide transmission repair specialist in the known human universe. Can anybody help me?

This is the last hurdle I need to overcome to finally drive the most beautiful, mechanically and electrically sound 1954 Corvette ever seen by ordinary persons.

I had a 55 Chev power glide trans repaired in IN by a shop that does dirt track car builds. The dirt track cars use the power glide in their cars. You might look around Bayview for any such shops. Ask at a speed shop maybe.

Don - I checked with Steve Newsom, our authority on '53, '54, and '55 early C1's from Alvin. He takes his and his customer's Powerglides to Circle D Transmission on Hempstead Highway here on the northwest side of Houston. Browse their website, give them a call, and see if you feel comfortable with the shop....I'm sure you will.

Since cast iron Powerglides are known for leaking after sitting a few days, You may want to discuss that with the shop up front to see if they have any solutions for those design issues. Don't want there to be any surprises there if that's a concern.

Thank you, Tim. This is good information. I have a request in th CDT for information about my trans problems.

Mr. Newsom was instrumental in putting me onto a dual pot intake air cleaner system for my '54. He seems like a good person, so I value his help, and yours.
