    They always have value.

Some may want them for a Bowtie/Survivor car, some may want them even for Flight judging.
If nothing else they are extremely useful for teaching purposes.

      Patrick,
Value to who? Help Ralph out to find a home for them. I think he's getting tired of seeing them in his garage.

The entire reason "for a Bowtie/Survivor car", is that it is NOT "put together". TOTAL DIFFERENT THAN FLIGHT JUDGING.

          Spare tires if nothing else.
Even one as a reference is good.

Shipping them is the challenge, of course.

            Patrick,
i believe these are NON DOT F 70's. Correct for early 1968.

I'm sure someone wants them. I have a early 68 and might be interested. I guess the relevant questions are 1. how dry rotted are they and 2. where are they located at?

+1, but I am not sure the judges can tell if the tires are the proper ones and the date code is correct, for ones with date codes.

For Bowtie Judging the owner is supposed to 'fess up to the changes that they know about. Bowtie Judges can quickly learn a lot about the character of the owner by reading the Owner's Declaration and comparing it to the car they see. Bowtie Judging is not a game of "fool the judges" and owners trying to play that game do so to their detriment.

One of the five tires on my 1970 is original to the car. I told the judges the one who can identify it gets an adult beverage from me. I have yet to have to pay up, but it tells the judges in a nice way that four tires are not the ones installed by the UAW. There are some other more obvious alterations that I 'fess up to (most of them the judges would find anyway). Such diversions break the tension, and more importantly it is what the Bowtie owner is supposed to do.

                      Absolutely.
However, there are times when an owner wants their car to look like a barn find, or as if it is back in 1968. Seeing a '68 with correct tires is a treat, as it's easy to find one with modern BFGoodrich radials.

As Terry mentions, it's often not difficult to see where a car has been massaged, and what has been changed.

I'm taking my car through Bowtie next year. I'm really looking forward to it, should be great fun.

                          Ralph,
Why not send an email to Eric Overberg <eric.overberg@gmail.com from our NCRS chapter he will then send out a blast to the local members I'm sure someone in our chapter would be interested in the tires.
