    Dave,

Please send or publish the Chevrolet Production Records that you are referring to in this thread. I along with several members would be interested to have a copy.

    Thanks,
    JR

I'm wondering if those are the same records that indicated the knock-off wheels for the '63s, though available in the order forms, were never put on any cars.

Yes, and I suffer a few deduction points because of it. The mufflers are embossed with:

            GM
            3845736
            6 1 281 7A

Michael, We wont get into the deduction thing again, I have two sets one on my car and another never on a car with a correct part # on the paper GM tag but on the muffler they are
              GM
              3845737
              A
              1 2 109 3

When did you get the set you have?

                Re: aluminized off road exhaust

I should have specified, the first set of numbers is from the passenger side, the driver's side is 3845737, but has 6 1 328 8 A on it under that. I got them about 4 years ago from a restorer who had been hoarding them for about 20 years in his shop.

Did you get the deduct for a embossed number or for the wrong embossed # ?

The number, originals had no numbers, but several judges said it was an NOS set of off-road mufflers, and pipes were TFP off road.

Oh, and they liked the blackout too……..

                      Re: aluminized off road exhaust

Mike, the 66 TIMJG states "The mufflers have a part number embossed on them. The left is 3845735 and the right is 3845736." Standard mufflers " Original mufflers do not have embossed part numbers." Does anyone have an original set still on the car, Not NOS set. ?

Mine is a '64, not sure about what happened by '66 and how the '66 judges would judge them. My '63-'64 TIM&JG just says, "Original mufflers do not have embossed part numbers".

IMO, the wording in your TIM&JG is specific enough to argue for no deduct if you have those exact part numbers embossed on yours.

I would argue the deduct for a part #, but not for the wrong # because they are NOS not original. I have the same #s as you do now. Any thoughts by anyone would help .Thanks
