    First time as the passenger...

    I thought everyone would enjoy my Thanksgiving day video. This is our first year with Red (63) and we will begin a new tradition. Sitting in the passenger seat gave me a different view of what needs to be tweeked and tightened. The first thing will be to see if the bolts to the seat are loose or even there.

    Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

    It doesn't get much better than that.....

    The first time I sat in the passenger seat of the '61 with my daughter driving I got a whole new appreciation of what I put my passengers through in the past. Leaning forward, holding on to that grab bar with the whites of your eyes showing and getting slung from side-to-side on the turns - well it was quite the education...

      Nice, was 56 and sunny in New Hampshire today. Drove the 63 coupe to visit friends and enjoy some bubble.

        It is always a good idea to sit in the passenger seat, many things look different and you can see, hear and feel things very differently. I just wish I had done that before my first PV, I would then have noticed the big tear in the shifter boot with daylight coming through only visible from the passenger seat, where Carlton was sitting……..

          Thank you for sharing. Pretty cool, felt like I was riding in the car. Car sounded really good, and I hardly noticed that 45 MPH speed limit sign when we flew by it. But then again, it always seems like your going faster when your sitting on the OTHER side. The weather has been unseasonably warm here in SW Pa. too. Had my 73 out for a spin yesterday.
          Enjoy!

            What little we could see of your '63 in the video looks fantastic. Let's see more - post more pics please. Thanks for sharing.

              Harry, were you on Cape Cod?? It looked familiar.

              I hope to have one of our splits running next week. Driveable, I am not sure, it has been 26 years.

                Christina;

                63's have weak seat frames, I.e. The spot welds at the corners break loose easily, but usually it is the driver's side on cars with HD clutches. In your situation, it may be from frightened passengers bracing themselves hard feet to the floor. I have had to have my driver's seat frame repaired by tig welding when my seat foams and covers were changed. Prior to that, I had a 2x4 block behind the seat, and still use it to eleviate the push pressure on the seat. This may only be an SHP engine equipped problem as I never saw it on an L-75 or lower hp car.

                  Thanks Stu. I thought maybe I would have seen you today at the show at the Coronado Springs (Disney). We saw a few C1 & C2, but mostly 2006 and newer. The show is there tomorrow but is open to all GM.

                    Christina;

                    Afraid I have a tire problem on mine right now (valve stem), and haven't had a chance to take the wheel over to a shop to repair it. Hope to get after it in a week or so when I wrap up my medical trips in Cleveland next week.
