You will have to remove the steering column and install it after the body drop. It could be done if you bring the body at an angle but it is just easier to remove it prior to the body drop. Jack up the front and slip the tube into the hole in the firewall and attach the gear box to the frame. A lot easier with the steering column removed.

i install the steering col thru the firewall before body drop. secure the col to the left inner skirt/core support with bungie cords etc to stabilize it as the body is dropped. mike- Top

I removed the steering column w/gear box through the grill opening with the radiator out. The engine was out at this point so I am not sure if that same process will work if the engine is already installed in the chassis. Eric- Top
