Recently heard that the formed metal bracket is semi gloss black and the and the rear metal brackets are plated ?? anyone know what these items should be ??

Yes the formed metal bracket in the front of the seats was a dipped part and could run from gloss to flat since we don't really know the humidity that day the part was dipped or the contamination of the paint. Semi gloss would be a great guess and the judges would or should give you full credit. BUT the rear rectangular brackets were not plated or painted. They were plain cold rolled steel (bare). The only plating (probably zinc) around the seats under the bottom were the seat belt brackets that were attached with aluminum rivets.

thanks ,thought I read recently that someone determined that the rear rectangular plates were zinc plated after many years of thinking that they were raw steel.This would make more sense to me than leaving them raw steel. At least the stamped front one is painted.Comment
