C2 mystery wire

Thanks to those who responded to my post a couple of weeks ago asking about a wire going to one of the starter mounting bolts on my 67 AC roadster. I traced it today and even though it is purple, it is a ground wire coming from the heater AC blower fan. GM must have run out of black wire and substituted this purple wire in its place. The harness is original to the car, and the wire has not been changed, or modified. It goes from a black plastic plug, where there is also a black ground wire going to the frame of a relay, down to the starter bolt.

Very possible. But heat age and weather elements does break down colors. I suggest it was black original and has survived less the original color due to above mentioned.

I do know some of the other wires through out the engine compartment have aged and are not as brightly colored as they would have been when new. This wire though is absolutely purple from one end o to the other! The other ground wire in the same plug is absolutely black!

While researching the possibilities of this wire, I have looked at three different wiring diagrams for the 67. They all show a black ground wire coming from the blower to the starter. I really think I have an anomaly with this one. It is a third week of February car.
