93 induction power coupler

    93 induction power coupler

    Induction coupler came for my 93. stock has a sensor on right rear, new does not. eckler states it is correct coupler. what is the sensor and is it necessary. Air temp maybe? Can new one be modified?

    That's the idle air control. Or IAC sensor. Not sure but I think 92 did not have it there and it started there in 93. They might have sent you the wrong one.

      Jim, that is the intake air temp. sensor( IAT), and I suspect you have the wrong intake rubber duct. Keith the IAC is to the left of ( IAT )sensor.

        Both 1992 and 1993 used the same sensor. It was originally GM #25037352 and is currently GM #12160244, aka Delco 213-243.

        The intake duct for 1992 and 1993 was the same and included the same sensor. The duct was originally GM #25099598 but it's been GM-discontinued and is scarce.

        The duct you have been supplied is incorrect. I don't know what year model it's for but it's not 1992 or 1993. I believe that 1994 and later went to a MAF sensor and used a completely different duct which would not begin to fit on a 1992-93.

        In my opinion, you definitely need the sensor. Without it, I expect you'll have a constant "service engine soon" light illuminated.
