Bill Mock (Bartlesville OK) has for sale VIN 12864, advertised as the first "production" BB car, special ordered for a Corvette racer.There have been rumors of a couple of earlier cars in the low 12000's.

Curious about the last 396 ?

Keith -- I believe so, but by deduction only [no window sticker or P-o-P]. It's the last '65 (VIN 23564) and has all the physical markers of the L78, although original engine and trans were removed around 1971.

Don't know original owner, but have met some of previous ones from 1968-on, and have copies of their photos, and heard their stories. But most importantly, it's never been owned (prior to me) by an NCRS type.

Tom --- Yes and yes (w/hard top). It's the one on the left in my avatar. Owned since 1988.

With the tanker gone, maybe you should make an offer on Mock's coupe and you could have first and last and a coupe and a 'vert - oh just realized that Mock's is Nassau Blue - sooo never mind ----
