I have a 1969 350/350 motor that is at the machine shop and I wanted to have these clips installed on the oil pan prior to painting. Page J 204 of the Assemble Manual shows "Clip part of Eng" on the passenger side at the front of the engine and what appears to be a clip on the driver side rear. I have 2 NOS clips part number 3744409. Do I need only 2 clips as show or need 4 clips and make each side the same? Thanks for any information. Steve

Re: 1969 SB Spark Plug Clips on Oil Pan
Unless I misunderstood what clips you are talking about. I am talking about a clip that bolts to the oil pan rail using one of the oil pan bolts. It is at the bottom of the boomerang spark plug wire shield. One on each side about 1/3 to 1/2 way down the oil pan rail. They are about at the same location on each side of the engine.Terry- Top

The GM #3744409 are, indeed, the clips mounted on the oil pan rail. So, if these are the clips Steve has, that's where they install.
These are not to be confused with the GM #3744408 supports. These are the plug wire supports of which there are 4, mounted at the top of the block and retained by one 1/4"-20 X 3/8" bolt each.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
