    '57 color indicator

When I was scuffing up the trunk for paint this summer, I was seeing a faint outline to the right of the LH trunk hinge. I scraped it with a quarter and was kind of surprised to find this:

It was always my understanding that the crayon markings for paint didn't start until early into '58 production. My car is #6136, and was indeed white originally. Is this somewhat of an unusual find? Note that this was on the left side of the trunk- not the right.

    Rich,

Nice find! My Jan 59 built car has "Yell" in the same location. My understanding that the "Yell" in 1959 was a code for classic cream.
