Mounting generator, 327, with Hooker Headers ?

I got a problem, had my 327 rebuilt, and had Hooker headers in stalled. Now how do in stall the generator since the old exhaust pipes had mounting holes for the lower bracket for the generator. The Hooker's do not? Can someone tell me how to mount the generator ?
    The top bracket is there?
    Help

There is no GM bracket I know of that will accommodate your installation. However, I think there are aftermarket brackets that will. I'd contact Hooker for advice or contact a retailer like Summit Racing. Someone else on this board might be able to advise, too.

My solution to your problem? Well, I'd never encounter it because I'd never install headers on a street engine and I have no interest in owning racing/off-road cars.

I am not worried that it is not original equipment, aftermarket is ok with me.
      thanks

Yes, I realize that. If original was your intention you wouldn't be using headers. However, sometimes if a GM piece will accommodate an otherwise non-stock installation it's the easiest solution. For example, folks installing headers on a 1969-71 small block which originally used a partially manifold-mounted alternator, can use the 1972+, head-mounted alternator brackets.

Ed, Have you tried to make some spacers between header and bracket and use of longer bolts?

Most of the header manufacturers sell alternator and generator mounting brackets. HERE'S the ones from Hedman, but they're all basically the same.

Lots of generic brackets out there. One of these might work for bolting your original"U"bracket to.

I put hooker side pipes on a 66 rat rod that I built. The bracket that jim shows came with the pipes. I bought a second bracket from Summit that bolts to the hooker bracket worked out great. I would send you a picture but I got rid of the car.
