    Question RE: Selling a Corvette

I am doing some research for the near future. Other than the "Driveline" and the "Classifieds" on this site ( I'm still trying to figure out), has anyone used or can recommend or NOT recommend any other web sites to "sell a Corvette".
ALSO has anyone ever used any of the companies listed in the Driveline that list, advertise, maybe sell your Corvette for no fee or a fee? Thanks You for any help.

    Don,
Most websites just "list" your car - what ever you tell them they post. If you go that route expect a lot of e mails and calls. Recommend setting up a separate (new e mail address) just to deal with the sale and then delete it after the car is sold. As an alternative, I would recommend contacting a few NCRS "regional" officers and ask then to circulate your sales info -as you might expect, an NCRS / regional member with a knowledge of Corvettes, or a member friend that is knowledgeable will be a benefit to all concerned.

      Don,

The NCRS on-line Classified Ads www.ncrs.org/classified/ is free as well as the Driveline.

The NCRS on-line Classified Ads is available to anyone on the Internet, while the Driveline only goes to NCRS members.

Up to you, but I'd try the on-line Classified Ads and Driveline first unless you're in a hurry.

If you're in a hurry, then you're going to have to hire and pay a dealer to sell your Corvette.

Re: Question RE: Selling a Corvette

          Thanks to all;
I have been going out to all of the NCRS Chapters, have put together an ad for the Driveline and have looked at the NCRS Classified
route but am having trouble with that. Every time I sign into the NCRS site and click on the Classified section, it will come up for about 3 seconds, them my screen goes white, nothing. I've gotten into it 1 time , but when I click on something such as information or how it works, again my screen goes white and nothing. I know I am not the sharpest chisel in the tool box when it come to the on line stuff, but I must be doing something wrong. I guess I will give it a try later. I'd I'd like to list it there also.
Ed, good idea regarding the extra e-mail address.
          Mark, I'll look into Hemmings.
I saw there was AutoTrader & AutoTraderClassic and a Used Corvette for Sale web site. Any one with knowledge of any of these?
Ok, Thanks again to all. I'll go and see what I can figure out on this classified section.

All I can say is that I found my car in AutoTraderClassics.

As far as using the online classifieds, which browser are you using? This site doesn't work so well with IE. Try using Chrome or Firefox. Haven't tried Edge.

Re: Question RE: Selling a Corvette

My answer would in part be based on the specific Corvette year, condition, value and geographic location.
The other part would be the willingness of the seller to actively engage with prospective buyers.

One of the best ways to sell a very nice car is to consign to a company that specializes in Sales of similar cars. They focus on marketing vehicles and have a customer base. Depending upon the part of the Country you're in, you can generally find a good Corvette Boutique like this. Year and condition are going to decide which one you work with. If consignment and having a middleman is not for you then depending upon the condition and dollar value, there are lots of places. UsedCorvettesForSale.Com is fairly popular. eBay is good way to get broad exposure. Hemmings, The DriveLine and similar are good too. Believe it or not, Craigslist.org is probably one of the best places as it gets picked up by other sites too. Corvette Forum may be another good source and/or local car shows. Key to the sale are great pictures; a reasonable description; location, pricing and any disclosures (NOM, Not original color, hit, salvage title, flooded, 10 foot paint job, Top-flight, etc.)

                Good luck

Re: Question RE: Selling a Corvette

I have been amazed at the results I have gotten FINDING cars on EBay. You need to see them first hand but that is a go to site if you want a lot of traffic.

However, I just sold my 71 to a member in Sweden through the Driveline...

                    Thanks to all.
I finally got my ad in the classifieds with help from the HELP DESK and getting hooked up with Chrome.
                    I thank them also.
You all answered my question(s) and have given me good ideas.
Hopefully the Driveline and the Classifieds, along with going out to the Chapters will be the thing I need.
I know it is early and that is why I put it out so to interest the early shopper.
As to going out to a broker, don't mind it, depending on commission and would want someone very reliable.
I think that would remain my later option as would e-bay or an online site.
                    Thank You all again

Re: Question RE: Selling a Corvette

I have bought and sold 9 Corvettes on Ebay and over 1000+ parts.
They have the largest audience of most of the online sellers.
I just sold a Trike HD for $36,000.00 and was charged their high fee of $125.00 plus $5.00 for extra pictures.
You do the write-up and pictures and deal with the buyers, no muss no fuss.

IMHO I feel that the driveline is the best source to sell your corvette .... I found my car that way in California ... Great seller and very trust worthy.... You may also have less tire kickers ... My 2 cents worth.
