1972 LT1 Differential Front Pinion Yoke Size?

Hi,

Someone swapped out the factory rear diff on my 1972 LT1. I'd like to install one with the 3.70 gears. I'd also like to make sure the front pinion yoke is the correct size. Does anyone know what the correct size yoke is for a 1972 LT1? The options are 3.75" and 4.25". Both are available with and without threads for the ujoint caps/ubolts.

I don't know just how the measurements you mentioned are taken. However, let's put it this way: ALL 1972 Corvette driveshafts use a 1330 series u-joint at both ends. A 1330 series u-joint is 3.62" OD. So, you need yokes designed for 1330 series u-joints.

The original u-joint yokes for all 1972 Corvettes used steel straps and conventional bolts for attachment of the u-joints to the yoke.
