    Doc Rebuild

I see why he has no phone. Very rude, blunt sounds, very anti NCRS. He would not sell me 54 washer hoses. I would not recommend Dr. A--hole to anyone.

Yes, but the rants on his website about his competitors, NCRS, the Corvette Forum are a hoot to read.

With all the negative things posted about the "Old Doc", I can't believe anyone would waste their time dealing with him.

I've ordered many items from them over the years and never had any problems. Always prompt.

I do know his part numbers before I call.

Did he actually refuse to sell you correct '54 washer hoses or did he refuse to sell you hoses that don't meet NCRS judging criteria? If it's the latter, I guess he saved you $$$ and points; if it's the former, he's not very good at business, is he? Wonder how he's lasted all these years.

                  Re: Doc Rebuild

I have purchased thousands from Geoff (Dr. Rebuild) with no problem and received more correct parts from him and his sweet wife than any other vendor on the planet. Also, his catalog has the best illustrations in the marketplace. He (Geoff) has drawn every illustration in that catalog.

                    Re: Doc Rebuild

He would not say if they were ribbed or not, also would not give a yes or no on NCRS so would not sell to me. Mine are all ribbed except the switch to the jar which I want to make correct, and have had no deduct for these the way they are. C.C. and Grossmueller have been waiting a long time for some to come in but don't know when. Any other vender's who has correct hose set's? Thank's guy's, Brad.

                      Brad,
I've always had good luck dealing with the Doctor too, I've never talked with him in person, just his wife and she was pretty nice on the phone. Paragon has the hoses pictured below. But they are for 56'-57 part #12924K for $19.00 They are ribbed. Maybe you can check with them to see if the long hose fits your need. I'm not familiar with the early cars so, not sure these will work. They have other years also, but I didn't notice any for 54. Just trying to help.

I have always had good luck with the DOC and frankly have enjoyed talking with him at Carlisle in years past. There are a lot of guys that have issues with NCRS. I am clearly not one of them. The bottom line is VERY few reproduction parts, whether hoses or other, are the same as original. I find it is far more productive to ask about parts on the TDB here to find out if a specific part has been used and if it meets with NCRS judging guidelines.

                        Kindest Regards,

                        Bill

I have ordered several parts for my 68 from Geoff. Never a problem. Can't say that about some other bigger vendors.
