When I pulled the windshield from my 60 to get the post re-chromed, I found that the extension on the bottom that goes along under the windshield forabout 2 inches was broken off, on both sides. Is this pretty common? They arepart of the pot metal post. Is the anyway to repair them? Judging by the sealant that is everywhere, it appears that they were already broken the lasttime the windshield was replaced. Isuppose that one could get the windshield back together with the parts justfilling the gaps, but there would not seem to be much holding the posts intoward the center of the windshield frame. Any experiences to relate out there?

Re: 1960 windshield post broken
Very common issue. In fact, it would be unusual if your originals were not broken. There are a number of folks that repair them. I had mine done by Paul Mazut and they were better than when new. Google Paul Mazut Corvette.

Re: 1960 windshield post broken
Whenever I restore a 1956 to 1962 windshield assembly, one or both tabs are usually broken.
Years ago, in the MIRA Report, it was reported that after an new 1961 Corvette was disassembled after testing, it had both windshield posts with broken tabs.
See the note here at "531 miles"....
