On page 99 of the Judging Guide it states that enclosed style exhaust clamps were used at the transmission mount area. However, UPC 8, Page A2 of both the 1971 and 1972 AIM's clearly show an open style clamp used that has the identical part number as the open style clamp used to secure the exhaust tips.
The AIM does show enclosed clamps used on LT1 and BB cars in agreement with the JG.
Is the JG wrong concerning base engine cars? I'm betting it is since I think it's unlikely GM would have inventoried an enclosed style clamp specific to that location when the exhaust tip clamp could have been used in both locations.
Anyone out there have a base engine car with it's original exhaust?
Thanks,
Mike
