    65 PCV valve

I searched the archives and had no luck. Trying to sort out the few things that are incorrect on my 65 300/327. Long Island's site doesn't show a PCV valve for this engine, only a restrictor at the rear of the carter carb. Does the 300/327 not have a PCV valve ?

The fitting at the rear base of the carb has a small hole in it that "meters the vacuum leak" causing a small negative pressure to the crank case.

One would think that would be enough to cause a vacuum leak, but I guess not since there are plenty of them out there that run fine. Thx Guys !

          John,

It is a vacuum leak, it's just calibrated in that the carburetor metering A/F ratio takes that into account. FWIW, are you having problems with the AFB idle.

Not really. But, even though most of the car is original unrestored, it did have an incorrect carb. I've got it torn down, so-to-speak ready for a dewitt's 941, manifold with new fresh air tube and a few other new goodies. I'll actually get the restored 3721 AFB (correctly dated ) back from Carb Junky's today and will be able to put it all back together. If I do have any issues I'll sure 'nuff give you a shout.
            Thx for the assistance,
            JC
