Re: 68 Corvette Radiator
Enzo,
I can't tell what you are asking. Are you asking about the radiator configuration or the metal tag with the broadcast code and part number embossed? In either case, we would need to know more about the car: engine, hp, transmission and a/c or no a/c.

Re: 68 Corvette Radiator
Hi Floyd, excuse my vague question but I am a C2 guy... He brought his car for flight judging and the tag was missing on the side of the radiator. The car is a 427/435,4 speed and no AC.... I hope this helpsEnzo Colosimo

Re: 68 Corvette Radiator
Enzo,
Here is an interesting thread on the subject of radiator tags. It doesn't discuss '68 directly but gives you an idea of the mystery surrounding this subject. I am not aware of a comprehensive database for radiator broadcast tags. They are often missing b/c radiator rebuilders wouldn't go to the trouble of putting them back on the unit - they simply threw them away.

According to the 68-69 TIM&JG, that car would have come with a copper radiator w/o provisions for the transmission cooler. In 69 a part #3018571 w/ tag broadcast code MJ9. I'm not certain but I think 68 BB radiators were carried over from 67. However, the broadcast codes could have very well changed from 67 to 68. Some of the tags are being reproduced but I haven't had much luck finding one for my 69 427/390 MT car. Since there isn't much certainty for the typical broadcast codes for any particular radiator and they can be difficult to read on the judging field, more often than not a little "strategic placing" (i.e. such that the tag is obscured by the seals around the radiator) and you can get away with any tag.

Re: 68 Corvette Radiator
I do not have a tag. I do have a picture of such a radiator with the tag but, firstly, the picture has insufficient definition to be of much use and, secondly, the picture is not in a form that I can send it to you.
I know that I have seen a clear picture of a tag but I can't remember where.
Rightly or wrongly, I have it in my mind that Dewitt's may be of some help with respect to a reproduction tag. I suggest you contact them.
Good luck.- Top

MK #3008567 tags are reproduced an sold by several vendors. Google "radiator tag MK" and you'll get several hits. They go for about $15.
