LS5 Exhaust System Installation

I am trying to get my exhaust system to be centered where it goes through the centre crossmember, the pipes are about 3/8 of a inch from the bottom of the hole they go through. Is there some way to get them to be more centered. The car is a 71, LS5 with Auto. Because of this I am also having a hard time getting the right side pipe to come up close to the plate on the bottom of the spring. Any suggestions appreciated.

Bill,
The pipes are GM service replacement pipes and the mufflers are from corvette central. It seems like the bracket at the transmission keeps them further down than i think they should be. It does not allow for them to be entered in the crossmember holes. The driver side fit good all the way back including the muffler and exhaust tip. The passenger side fits but is hard to get it up close to the spring plate.

Sounds like you may need to tweek the bracket some.

My nos system fit real well on the 72.

I know the auto cars had their own head pipe and mid pipe.
