    1971 LS5 PCV Valve

My car is a 71 LS5 with automatic and no air. The AIM shows the PCV valve with a T on it with larger line going to the Rochester carb and a smaller line going from the other side to the eval canister. I have the PCV valve a 736 which has a large outlet going straight up but cannot find the correct plastic T fitting to make this work. All the ones I have found have the large ports going straight through and the smaller port making the T part. Has anyone got a picture of there original setup that I can see. Or does someone know where I can get the right pieces.

    Thanks
    Sheldon

I'm not sure that the tee was used for 1971 LS-6 although it was used for 1972. In any event, if the tee was used it was GM #3970076. It's discontinued but I think it's available in reproduction. You won't find this in the AIM because the tee was part of the hose assembly supplied to PRODUCTION.

This is what I think you are looking for. This is a 71 LT-1, but I think they used the same Tee. Other picture is a 72, LS5. Again, I think they were the same.

        Sheldon,

Doc Rebuild has a repro of the tee:

1970-1973 Corvette PCV Evaporative Hose Tee Fitting Repro of GM 3970076 CAVEAT EMPTOR: This is not an ordinary vacuum Tee, but a special automotive plastic formulated for exposure to engine high heat and volatile hydrocarbons. Cheap import knock off parts quickly become brittle and break off. made in the USA. Mounts in the drivers side valve cover of all 350 and 454 and connects the emissions Evaporative canister to the carb and PCV. 1970 1971 1972 1973

        Regards,
        John
