Groundstraps

I need the ground straps on the accelerator linkage and
for the exhaust center cross member. Are the re-po's
close to original in strap size bolt hole size, etc... or do
I need to locate originals?

The reproductions should be fine. There is a debate at the moment if the star washer was actually used on the linkage to attach the strap. Typically a star washer was used to cut through the paint on a painted surface to ensure a good ground. There is no paint on the linkage. The JG calls out the star washer, some judges deduct some don't. It's your choice to use one or not.

Agree, they look fine. Also take a look at your AIM and shop manual (sec 12) before adding a star washer, just bring a copy with your at judging. My car is original and shows no indication of any marks which a star washer would leave, next thing somebody will start telling you to use those on the chrome fittings of your fuel filter or to mitt your exhaust system. Sorry James for running off in another direction!

I just put the LICS ground straps (yes all of them) on my split window; they are nicely done and I think you'd be pleased with them (star washer debate notwithstanding!) The LICS kit comes with straps for all midyears and not all of them are used depending on the year...
