1967 Hood opener

Is there a way to remove the original opener wire and replace it? Perhaps maybe pull it out another 0.5"

The original failed just before the screwed retainer and the latch and the repops all like cr*p.

I'm not sure if this will work but, you may be able to pull the inside wire out from the dash side and cut the outer wire housing shorter by 2 inches or so which will give you extra wire when you push it back thru from the dash. Hope this helps Jeff
