I think we get jaded about how special all our cars are to the younger generation, since we operate in a different world and demographic. Today I called a AAA wrecker to take my '64 FI coupe (running very poorly) the 82 miles for a much needed FI overhaul and restore by our local experts (thanks Rick and Willy Wilhelm). The driver, a 30 something, had never been close to a Sting Ray, much less an FI Sting Ray in his life, he was overwhelmed to be so lucky to transport it, he had heard about them all his life. I regaled him with much FI Sting Ray lore and legend, he loved it. When we arrived and he lowered it off the platform, I told him to start it and drive it to the shop parking. I told him it was missing about 300 HP, but what did he think? He was very happy, his face said it all. After he parked it he said, OK, I can die happy, I actually drove a Fuel Injected Sting Ray for once in my life. That just has to bring a smile to your face!
