    Rick Boyd

Sorry to report that Rick Boyd of MI passed away on Tuesday. Rick was an old time Corvette guy who loved to work on fuel injections. I believe he was retired from GM also. Not sure if he was a current NCRS member or not. Maybe others can chirp in on this.
Rick was my friend and FI parts customer since the late 80's. Real nice fellow so he was. God Bless Rick.

My friend as well, John. Very, very sad news. One of the best of people. He could not have been more helpful when I was rebuilding my '65 unit. He was always friendly to a new, young, member that had a lot to learn. I will truly miss him. God speed, my friend.

        Re: Rick Boyd

Rick and I met about thirty years ago at Rochester Products. He had heard that I was interested in Corvettes and made sure we talked when he was visiting or working in NY. He grew up in Rochester and did a CO-OP at GMI. There he was sponsored by Rochester Products division of GM. He stayed with RPD after graduation.

When we met, he was assigned to work in Lansing as the resident engineer at Olds. He held that position for a long while. When RPD became part of Delphi (and was later spun off by GM), Rick stayed with Delphi and worked other engineering assignments in Brighton, Mich. He was known as a great engineer (fussy with the details) and a wonderful "car guy" friend. I never failed to learn new automotive related details when talking with Rick, even as we talked tires last week.

Rick put up a hell of a battle with his health issues over the last five or six years. I miss him already. Funeral is Monday - I will add a link to the funeral home for those who want to make comments on line (there).
