    Rear Rotors cooking C4

What would make the rotors run a 250 temperature after using vehicle for a half an hour (rear only) Disc brakes?

What year? Up to 87 I believe use shoes inside the rotor. 88 to 96 don't have internal shoes but have a setup that used the pads. That said 250 doesn't sound that hot. Are they smoking?

The year is 1993. The front temperature was 125 degrees both sides the rears 250 degrees. I could smell the smell inside the car with windows open No the emergency brake shoes are fine very little drag

The 93 uses the brakes pads for the parking brake also there are no brake shoes inside the rotor. I should also have ask are these new pads on the rear? New pads will run a little hot at first and stink some until they get broken in. There will be a little drag from the parking brake which adjust every time you back up while applying the brakes. Normal operation temp is some where around 200 to 400 degrees and under race condition it is not unusual to get temp up to 800-1000 degrees.

Also the rears will run a little hotter than the fronts.

Frank, have you jacked the car up after a 1/2 hr. trip to see if the wheels spin freely? Its not uncommon for the pads to stick in the caliper brackets and have a constant drag causing slightly higher than normal temp.

Wheels spin ! At rest should there be some distance between rotor and brake pad? Would the abs have ties to this problem?

No, the pads should be in constant contact with the rotors.
