I D Water Pump Casting Please

3782608 with both the 3 and the 6 looking like they might be 8's.

    Thank you.

Joe, it was used on just about every small block ever made between 1961 and 1970 for full size cars, Corvettes (1963-1970), Nova, Chevelle and Camaro. Probably used on trucks too.

Correct on the date and for the Corvette applications. It was also used on all but the special high performance 327's and the 302 Camaro. For those the 3859326 pump was used.

Probably the most common of all of the small block waterpump castings. GM probably made millions of them. Used for virtually all 1961-68 small blocks without external bypass (the VAST majority of small blocks do not use external bypass)

The big problem with this casting is that it uses the small bearing and 5/8" shaft.

A better choice is the GM #3991399 casting. This casting uses the jumbo bearing and 3/4" shaft. It also has a buttressed, reinforced snout. Once installed on a Corvette originally using the 3782608, it appears almost identical. However, some "adaptation" is needed to make it work on pre-71 Corvette. It can be used without adaption if the 71-79 waterpump pulleys, 71-79 fan blades and 71+ clutches are used.

Bearing was shot. Since it's of no value, it went in the trash yesterday.

Well, it's of no great value due to its commonality. However, it might have a date that's of value to someone looking for that date.
