    Bowling Green

My wife and I are scheduling a summer trip that will take us through Bowling Green. To tour both the museum and assembly plant, should we plan on spending one, or two, days there?

    Thanks,
    Larry

Last time I was there, one day, if you start first thing in the morning, is all you need.

      Larry,
My wife and I visited there last fall. It is possible to tour the plant and go through the museum in one day. However, you should check with the museum. I believe that they are now responsible for scheduling the plant tours. We did the museum one day and the tour the next because the tours were all filled the day we arrived, so we reserved for the next day and stayed over night. You could visit Mammoth Cave while there too.
You will have a great time. Just seeing the cars on display from the sinkhole is unforgettable. Then going over to the plant to see those amazing cars being assembled is well worth the trip.
      Regards,
      Jimmy

You can schedule your tour on-line as soon as you know when you will be in Bowling Green:

Note the "black out dates" and the time of day for the tours.

Try to make it to Mammoth Cave - time well spent - also check and see if anything is going on at the track - If I were doing it again two days --

If you are in the area on June 16, 17 and 18th visit the Hot Rod Reunion at Beech Bend Raceway in B.G.
Great cars and nostalgia drag racing.
              A great time.

I did the R8C Museum delivery on my 2015 Stingray--on those you have your own personal tour of the factory which means you can take your time and not be rushed. One day was plenty of time-we got there early just as they were opening the doors (earlier than the public tours start), went through the delivery stuff with the car, toured the factory, did the drive out so they could take the Stingray back to their shop to install the splash guards for me (it was in February, about 32 degrees outside and windy as all get out, so the $25 install fee was worth it) then the museum. Including time out for lunch, we were out of there by 4 pm. So I figure one day should be more than enough time for the nondelivery tour. As I understand it, on the public factory tours they move you along to keep on schedule. The factory was well worth the cost. To me, the museum was just ok, however.

Don't they likely now have a direct access to Mammoth Cave right in the museum? 😳🔦

                    Larry,

I would like to mention that the assembly plant only operates Monday - Friday. I toured the assembly plant the second week of March on a Friday then went to the Museum Friday afternoon and went back there on Saturday morning to the Museum to make sure I read and viewed all I wanted to since it had been since 2007 to visit the Corvette Museum.

Went to the Museum and assembly plant today. Paid for both at the Museum and did the plant tour first at 9:30am. Plant tour very interesting and took about an hour and a half. Back to the museum and had a quick lunch. There were about 8 Corvettes being delivered at the museum today and we saw about 4 people drive out with their new cars. Very nice to see and the new owners were all smiles. Museum had lots of interesting information and the cars recovered from the floor collapse was the highlight for me. Spent about 3 hours at museum. Staff recommended booking online as it is coming into their busy season.

Larry, note what Terry said and reserve factory tour online. You will be guaranteed a spot. I have done both in a single day-assembly in AM, Museum AM-PM. Next time will be #27 and each time has been great!

Tour didn't take you directly through engine building area, but it was pointed out and did see some engines being built.....unsure if they were employees or owners doing the building.

If you and your wife are doing the plant tour make sure you have on close toe shoes, no flip flops or sandles. Well worth your time to do the plant tour. If you don't you will probably kick yourself for not doing it while you were so close.
