    70 Seat Foam Preservation

Maybe a silly question, but if you have really nice original comfort weave seats and the foam is yet to begin turning to dust, what if anything can be done to preserve the foam? I am specifically asking about the foam in the pleats under the comfort weave material.

    Thanks,

    Bill

As far as I know, I do not think that anything can be done to preserve the foam backing. Once it starts to deteriorate, it proceeds inexorably.

Basically, the deterioration and resultant "dustification" is due to rotting of the foam caused by perspiration that inevitably passes through the woven vinyl and into the foam backing.

      Thank you Joe,

I was thinking the same thing but since the seat covers are off I though maybe some 303 Fabric protector both top side and bottom side.

It probably couldn't hurt anything. However, I don't think it will help, either.
