The pictured ignition shielding came with my 1967 Corvette (L79). Can you confirm what year it is for, I don't think its correct based on what I have found on this site. Thanks in advance for your help. thumb_IMG_4317_1024.jpgthumb_IMG_4318_1024.jpg

Harold
I'll speculate from examining your two pictures that it's a '65 model year (3864671) with the top portion of the front grounding clip broken off; a 'carb' rear grounding clip, but attached in the cover's FI slot.- Top

Re: Ignition Shielding Information Request
Richard, I just found this thread with the link you provided to reach the John Amgwert article. When I tried the link I only got an error message. Do you know if this link has expired and whether or not there is another way to reach John's article?
Thanks, Richard Powell- Top

Richard, Send me a PM with your email address and I'll emai it. It's too big to attach here on the TDB as it exceeds filesize limits.

PS I think when Vinnie Peters puts these files on the server, it's for temporary use only. That's why it gives a FIle Not Found Error.- Top

Re: Ignition Shielding Information Request
Harold,
It sure looks like the shielding dome on my original 67 327/300. Plastic rivets on the top.
Can't tell for sure from the photo, but it looks like the front clip to the air filter housing has been replaced. One should see only two rivet heads holding the clip in place. The rivet washers should be on the inside.Jerry Fuccillo

Re: Ignition Shielding Information Request
I compared the pictures you posted with my original 67 327/300 and they almost look exact (except for the replaced front clip)
Here's a picture of mine before I replaced the broken front clip (broken is usual):
Just for fun, here's how to clean your ignition shielding (only when your wife is away):
