Yellow vapor canister warning label - do you have one?

In 1970 and early (?) 71 there was a yellow sticker affixed to the firewall. This was placed just above the brake master cylinder and below the tuning information. Please see photo for location.

If you happen to have one of these would you mind contacting me, especially if you can provide a photo? We are hoping to include a picture in the Judging Guide revision, but haven't seen one lately to photograph and include.

    Thanks for your assistance!

    Patrick
I am sure you know, but for the benefit of others looking on:
1970 had this label only if it had NA9 Evaporative Emissions Control.
We believe the first 1500 or so 1971 Corvettes received this label because all 1971 Corvettes had Evaporitive Emissions Control. Our speculation is they used the remaining stock of labels on early 1971 production.
Patrick would be looking for known original labels in good condition with a good quality color photograph.

I think these are more rare than a base motor 4-speed convertible, Patrick. The Last Detail, North Chicago has a 71 there with one on it. Just need to find the time to go for a drive, act like I am interested in it. Maybe after Rochester Regional Meet.

Re: Yellow vapor canister warning label - do you have one?

My 71 has one. I have not seen another car with one. Part number in JG is wrong. Pointed this out to Chuck B years ago.

Car is 1971 MY, SN 1632 built in early Sept 70.

(edit, just checked my emails - sent pics Oct 2005) (edit #2, email in 2008 saying this info would be filed and updated in the next release)

The photo on their website shows that all of the writing is gone from that sticker.

My was replaced by me on 71 LT-1 VIN was 1914. There could a few later then this but I know of another LT-1 VIN 2333 does not have the emissions label. It is very original car sat on the line from Sept. to Nov. during the strike.

                    Gary,

Tom is kind enough to try and get us a photo without flash effect on it. He will send that on once he has a chance to get to his car.

Changed the picture to the manual this morning. Changed the part number as Tom noted, and noted the serial number ranges as Paul noted.
Thanks all for the help. Manual will only get better with kind of input!

                        Gary,
On my LT-1, SN 2153, it does not have the yellow vapor canister warning label and it does not show any evidence of having one. The white emission label is still on the car, good condition and very readable with PN 3994020 so if the yellow label had similar adhesive as the white one, it should be there if installed. I am providing this info if it helps for determining when the yellow label was used since my LT-1 SN is before the one Paul referenced (SN 2333).

My understanding (and I may be wrong here) is that the yellow sticker was used on NA9 equipped cars. NA9 was only used in California cars??

So if the LT1 SN 2153 mentioned above was not delivered to CA it would not have NA9 and therefore no yellow decal. LT1 SN 2333 could have been a CA car and would have NA9 and the yellow decal showing that there were cars earlier then 2333 without.

Does that make any sense? Just trying to get it straight in my head.

Re: Yellow vapor canister warning label - do you have one?

Evaporative Control System (ECS) was on 1970 California cars (with NA9) and all 1971-72 for all states. Paul identified that he had yellow label one on his 71 SN 1914 but not on 71 SN 2333. Current manual shows that the label was on all early 71 up to at least SN 1455, thus Paul's is after and had it and mine did not. If someone else has SN between 1914 and 2153, this info would be good.
