    Steering Arm, which hole

    Hello:
I am rebuilding the front suspension of my 1970 corvette, manual steering, 350 engine.
There are 2 holes in the steering arms to attach the tie rod. The build book shows to use the outer hole but when I disassembled the tie rods were connected to the inner holes.
Does anyone know the correct hole to use?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

For a manual steering car, the steering arm outer holes are the standard steering position. They can be moved to the inner holes for "quick ratio" steering at the expense of increased steering effort. This is, apparently, what someone has done. I don't recommend it for a street driven Corvette.

The inner holes are used for all power steering applications. In fact, if you intend to drive the car a lot, I recommend retrofitting power steering.
