1967 Window Sticker Ident number Validation

Does anyone have a original 1967 window sticker? Is there a Ident number on it? I have seen some photos of other years and there is a 6 digit number in the upper right. I have not been able to locate a photo of a original '67 window sticker.

The Document Validation page is not specific about which documents can be validated. I know a original 1967+ Tank Sheet can be, but unsure about a Window Sticker.

If I understand the validation process correctly, the GM Shipping Data records on file contain the "Ident #". If the Ident # on a car's Tank Sheet or Window Sticker is a match, then the Validation Service will confirm that the original document and it's information is valid for that vehicle. Am I correct?

Can a window sticker be used to validate delivered options in the absence of a original Tank Sheet? Is the Ident number on a 1967 Window Sticker the same Ident number on a the same car's Tank Sheet? If so, then any pre-1967 to 1962(to apx vin 6000) Window Sticker(if a Ident# exists), could be validated if that Ident# exists, correct?

For those with original Window Stickers, could you state the year and if a Ident# appears on yours. Please don't state the number as to protect your confidential data, just if one exists or not.

    Thanks,
    Rich

Yes on both of them, a '64 and a '67.

        Rich:

Original window stickers for 1967 had the Ident Number printed on the sticker, but also the Dealer Number and Dealer Zone Number printed on the window sticker. Look for BOTH sets of numbers.

Reproduction window stickers are out there in large numbers, and may contain these printed numbers. Some because the original documents existed and could be used as a reference for making a copy, but others could just be made up by someone so that the sticker looked more official.

NCRS has more than just the VIN and corresponding Ident Number for our cars, but they are not saying all the info they have. Certainly they have Dealer Numbers and Dealer Names. Also date car was ordered and date of actual car production.......and likely the Order Number as well. If this info somehow also contained the shipping weight of the vehicle, it would serve to document SB vs BB cars. But this is something that I may never know.

There was an good article in The Restore (Vol 37 #4) by Mark Lincoln that showed one page of the Jan 31, 1967 month car shipped report and explained what they received.

Richard, none of that matters if all you want is a verification by NCRS of the authenticity of your window sticker. Just send it in and see if it is authentic.

                  Michael,

This is more of a information gathering. We don't have the window sticker. The tank sheet was deteriorated. We have a owner history search in progress, and if we ever come across a prior owner with claim of having the Window Sticker, I'd like to know how we can get it validated. I'll contact our Validation authority(I forget the name) and ask directly. I just want to understand how the Validation process works.

I've been searching and found this example. It's claimed to be real.

It's filesize is too large to download so it's a link....

OK, I see, if some one appears with a window sticker you could just tell them you will only buy it if it passes validation by NCRS. I did that once, and it failed, so I saved some money anyway.

Looks okay to me................but that is just a quick, preliminary check. Really need to see in person.
