Interesting design. Is that original?
Maybe each dealer ordered one this way for their showroom as an incentive for customers to get PW.Mark Edmondson

I recently judged a pace car interior in WNY (Beautiful Location). The guide said this was possible in 1978 also. Not sure about a pace car w/o PW, but others in 1978 were made this way.

Power windows RPO A31 was standard equipment on Pace Cars...thus rendering the map pocket useful.Tom Russo

Re: 1979 Corvette Without Power Windows - Map Pocket Rendered A No-Map Pocket
I owned a '79 L82 new with PW and recall looking at some cars in dealer inventory at the time with the "map pocket delete" and found it humorous. (Like you've got to be kidding!) I doubt the sales brochures or other dealer literature explained or showed photos of this configuration. Maybe PW's were originally slated to be standard on the '78's and then when that didn't happen the only option was to run the crank through the newly designed door panels w/pockets?- Top
