I am looking for the correct clocking position for the POA valve on a 67 big block 390 HP. Thank you for any help. Jeff A picture would really help out, the AIM does not show the proper positioning of the lines and the valves.

Jeff:
First thing is you need to make certain that you have the correct POA valve. Check the part numbers to be sure against the AIM. There are three (3) different configurations, each with different clockings of the side fittings.
Second, the oil return line and the evaporator core equalization line should help correctly position the POA. If you have the correct POA for your car, these auxiliary lines will not allow for too many positions without running out of tubing length. Also if I remember correctly, the remaining Schrader connection on the POA for hooking up your gages should point into the passenger inner fender and require a special 90 degree attachment connector to allow the manifold gage hose to be hooked up. I know I had to purchase this 90 degree connector to allow me to help a few other 1967 BB Corvette owners with their AC.
Hopefully someone will help and post a picture for you. I don't have any..................as my 1967 factory AC car is a small block.

EDIT: These POA valves are known for being a problem...........and often sticking closed or almost closed when they should be open. There are simple test procedures you can do to check for proper operation. A few special fittings and a AC gage manifold set are required along with an air supply. I have the procedure, but it is also available on-line. Also if you are NOT going to use R12, then a POA valve adjustment is also required. I do not know your situation, so I cannot comment/help much unless you ask and provide additional info.- Top
