I need some help on the correct screw and clamp for a 66 427 water pump bypass hose. I have looked at a lot of old posts and see different style clamps and also screw heads. The judging guide calls for a Fillister head slotted screw 1". I think this may be for the small block. Does the big block use a slotted hex head as i have seen. Also the clamp looks a little different as well. Any pics or thoughts. Again thanks for the help. Greg

Re: 66 427 bypass hose clamp pics
Greg:
This is a photo of my 66 390HP car that I bought 20 years ago.... I freshened up the engine bay and used all of the original clamps and components that I could "without" any restoration or freshening ---- note the clamp and hex head slotted screw --- it is the same on both clamps --- in all these years I have never had an issue with these clamps during judging -----
Hope this helps a bit....

Re: 66 427 bypass hose clamp pics
Bill, Thanks for the picture of the clamp and the screw. They both look like mine and i got hit at a chapter meet. I think the small block has both different clamps and screws. One thing , what is the lenght of the screw. Getting ready for bloomington. Thanks again, Greg- Top
