My '66 was delivered with goldline/gold-stripe tires and I'm looking to return to the original look, but as a radial tire. The current JG lists the width of the gold stripe as 3/8"... Diamondback has confirmed that is how they are currently built (based off an original sample sent to them). Going through the archives, people claim to measure the original stripe as 9/32"... and a 1966 article in Corvette News (CLICK HERE) lists the stripe as 0.3" wide. These are some significant differences.
Does anyone have an original gold-stripe tire, and can report back with the stripe width?
NOTE: I did find this excerpt from the 1966 article (Vol 9 - No 3) quite interesting:

The TO-1 tire, dubbed "gold-stripe" on the option chart, has high-speed capability some 20-30 mph above the original equipment tire while preserving the standard tire's ride and traction.
