    Romeo or Knoch?

    Hi all,

I have seen Romeo and Knoch C1 trunk mats and Romeo has sixteenth inch plastic and Knock has eighth inch sponge, so Romeo takes it in my book.

Recently, someone asked me about C1 interiors. I have seen lots of interiors and they have all looked nice, but I don't know if they are all Knoch or a combination. Has anyone installed a Romeo interior that judged well?

    Thanks,

    Bob

You wait forever on Romeo! I would go with Knoch next time.

      John,

I was just wondering about the quality, regardless of shipping time. Is there a judging difference between Romeo and Knoch.

      Thanks,

      Bob

I've been very happy with a # of Knoch products oer the last 25 years. After three requests in writing of Romeo, I can't seem to get a catalog.

About 6 years back I put a black Romeo dash pad in my '61; the fit was pretty bad....the arc of the material around the passenger aluminum insert was off center and the pad was too long in overall length....it took a lot of tweaking to get it presentable. If you look at it now, installed, its decent but I watched a pal put an AK pad in and it nearly slid in compared to what I went through. Another of those cases where saving a few bucks wasn't worth it...

Having said that, I've been told that Romeo Engineering has improved the C1 pad design but, I'd do my homework.

The color match from Romeo leaves a lot to be desired

When looking for a trunk mat for the 58, Knoch didn't have any in Signet Red and wasn't going to run them for a bit. I ordered one from Romeo and got it in 3 weeks. It looks good, numbers and such compare to the original one in my 60. I also bought the correct bulged trunk divider panel from Romeo. It came in 2 weeks.

Interior parts are all Knoch - no problems there.

I'm still curious, though. How do Romeo seat covers, door panels, kick panels, carpet, dash pads, etc. compare with those from Knoch?

In my opinion Al Knoch has the best match and most correct products...as for judging we are at the discretion of the interior judges?

As good as everyone says about Al Knoch products, they still need tweaking. My dash pad had too much foam around the ends of the instrument cluster and interior mirror, but with a little care and removal it fit fine.
