      Put it in the proper position and use a little Loc-tite. Make sure you don't get any on the paint.

          Many, many years ago I did a story on this subject for The Corvette Restorer. The details are far too involved to post here. I tar easily now days. A search of the archives of this board should show a reference to that article.

          You should know htis is a charistic of OEM late 1969 and early 1970 side view mirrors, and each time we revise the TIM&JG I submit a suggestion that we judge for this feature. I have yet to have any success with that suggestion. So much for originality.

              Use the green Loctite. It will make the mirror adjustment tight but still adjustable.
