Section 12 on page 34 of the Judging Guide (6th edition) states the following regarding the two small storage compartments behind the seats and under the Masonite / carpeted board: "The interior of the storage compartments are painted a low gloss and coordinated with the carpet color".
The interior of my '64 convertible is dark blue & has dark blue carpets. Is there a preferred or recommended paint product (brand & color) to use for this application?
I have a few cans of dark blue dye that I acquired from one of the better know vendors (either LIC or Paragon... I forget which I got it from) that I used on my radio side kick panels and speaker grill. I would say it is a satin sheen (they probably called it low gloss back in the day). Would this be acceptable for the storage compartments?
Also - the fixtures or hooks on the driver's side for the spring that holds the jack in place - what color should they be? Are they installed before or after spray painting the compartments to match the carpet?
Thanks in advance to all that respond.
