First time I have seen this. Initially scared the crap out of me looking at VIN plate, but read the description and appears to have passed NCRS judging. I assume this would have to be highly documented to be accepted by NCRS.

Re: 1963 Split Window Auction
a car with a funny VIN plate does not need to be highly documented to be NCRS flight judged, BUT, it does have to have a State Approved replacement ID plate with matching title and /or current registration IF the factory VIN plate is not present. (Section 2, Para 1, 8th Ed., JRM)
NCRS judging standards are tighter today than they were 20 years ago, so while this car may be kosher, and titled with that funny VIN plate, it may not necessarily be allowed in NCRS judging. I cannot make out from the photo if that is a State Approved ID plate or not.
But I can see that it is not GM.
I think the auction house is in a dream world if they think this SWC will bring 6 figures with that funny plate.- Top

Re: 1963 Split Window Auction
Also, the cars body number does not line up with it's funny VIN tag number. I know that you couldn't take that into account on the judging field but I think it's off by several hundred cars.
