Mike owned, and restored Corvettes. Hands on rebuilding. Many collectors today have never had the experiences that Mike enjoyed. He rubbed elbows with Zora, Guldstrand, Hooper and many other Corvette famous people.
His sense of humor added to his size when he was the NCRS So Cal Chapter Judging Chairman. How could anyone argue with a person like Mike. He had his expert view on a cars history and it was final.
We had more fun at the race track. When the green flag waved, the BS stopped .
The man and machine and the crew that got us all to the start / finish line celebrated. And everyone helped competitors. How strange is that to see today. Mike restored many Corvette race cars, and then took them to the track.
Mike was the ambassador. I will never forget Mike , dressed in a classy white outfit looking like Liberace sitting with and showing a special Corvette at the Italian Concour at the Quail in Carmel Valley. Dee and I were impressed that Mike was so involved in motorsports, even fancy concour show cars.
We are sorry that our new home in Texas prevented our attendance Sunday.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all the Scott family.
